I am looking at getting a 2006 miller trailblazer with the 23 horse kohler and I was wondering if they had the start at idle on them back in 06? I know they do now I looked online and didn't see much about it. ThanksVantage 300 kubota ,miller 304 xmt ,lincoln ln 25 pro , ranger 305 G, plenty of other tools of the trade to make the sparks fly.
Reply:My '04 Bobcat with 20hp Kohler starts, runs at high idle for a few seconds, then drops to low idle until it receives a load on either the generator or weld output circuits and idles up. I don't see a problem with it operating that way. Is there a reason you need the machine to start and go immediately to low idle speed?MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
Reply:I don't see why a manufactor would have a engine that has not built up oil pressure jump to 3600 rpms then after it runs for 3 or 4 seconds go down to idle. Start up is the hardest time for an engine and I see that the new trailblazer have it but I didn't know when they start that.Vantage 300 kubota ,miller 304 xmt ,lincoln ln 25 pro , ranger 305 G, plenty of other tools of the trade to make the sparks fly.
Reply:My 2006 TB 301 has it but it has never worked all the time since it was new. I'd say it works about half the time. I'm really not too concerned. The TB 250 I had before this one was 18 yrs. old when I sold it and it still worked perfectly and the guy I sold it to still uses it. I bought it for $2460 and sold it 18 yrs. later for $1500. I can't think of many things that are that good a deal.
Reply:My Ranger starts at fast idle, then rolls back to slow idle if you select that function, otherwise it will start and run at high idle. There isn't a modern automobile or truck that doesn't start at high idle, then roll back to standard idle. And they now last for over 200,000 miles. The new engines are designed to be run like this.Any good oil leaves a residual film on the bearings which is sufficient for lube during startup. I would, however, start an engine regularly if it's being stored."Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/ |
