Thinking of picking it up. Unsure of whether to get WAC35-SW or WAC45-SW. Anyone have either?http://store.cyberweld.com/sthawecl3ax.htmlMiller Diversion 180Hobart Handler 140 (Soon to be replaced with Miller 211?)Miller Spectrum 625 Extreme
Reply:I have the 35. It is very helpful when you really need someone to help or you want to clamp something together and re-measure or just look at something from different angles and think about what you are doing from different perspectives. Reply:I have the 35 as well and love it. I am a one man shop and you can't beat it for holding things in place nice and square while you tack them up.
Reply:I have one of them don't remember which one it is. One thing I find handy is to have a couple of pieces of square tube the same height as the base to keep the horizontal pieces level. I think its 1" tube to match the one I am using. That way setting it on a level table everything is sure enough square and you don't have to work to keep the bottom pieces level as you tighten the clamp. The one I have will clamp at least 2x2" tube.
Reply:I have 4, they are priceless! Cut it, drop it in and burn it in. Reply:You can make similar, any size you want. You gotta supply your own clamps though... Matt
Reply:Strong hand tools while great pieces of equipment, they are a complete rip off for the little guy. I hope they go out of business. I personally make my own tools such as pipe clamps, modified vise grips and such. They cost me only quarters, nickels and dimes, compared to 100-dollar bills of Strong(arm) hand tools. |
