I have been screwing around with this off and on. I had to put the brakes on it during the heat, but the last two weekends were a little better. It has a Pete and Jakes frame and 4 link front and rear suspension. I was not happy with the look so I decided to cut the frame up and drop 4 inches and extend it 5 inches. I am pretty happy with the results. The last picture you can see the straight on shot is a little lower. When I am finished, the body will be roughly 3inches  lower than that final pic.I could not mock it up as the trussing and reinforcement I welded into place to keep things from moving has not allowed the body to drop all the way down.Next week or the week after. Reply:Here are the last two. They wouldn't fit in the first thread.I chopped the top a couple months back but am just now able to play around a little more. If you look at the side shot you can see the body still has roughly 6inches further to drop. The straight on shot has been nudged down a bit more than the profile shot. It still has a few inches. Then I can start reinforcing the inside and add the floor boards, etc.Grant Attached ImagesLast edited by jackalope; 08-14-2011 at 10:24 PM.http://jackalopefab.com/MM210Synchrowave 200DXMiller XMT350 w/60series feederMiller Bobcat 250 with SGA 100 and spoolgunHTP PlasmaFull Machine shop with everything

Reply:Got a chance to get into the shop Saturday for a little while. Got the inside cut away and was able to position the body over the frame. This is pretty much how it will look. The tires on it currently are just to allow it to roll around. The tires that will be on it will be slightly larger int he rear which will give the overall body a slight rake. Not much but enough. The rest of the body is exactly the way I want it. Reply:Ya should've kept it. I sold a beautiful jeep that was completely decked out so I could have this project. Mine came with the Pete & Jakes frame and suspension. I did not care for the style so I modified the frame around the suspension. Maintains the coilovers and triangulated 4 link. The only thing I have in this beyond what I paid is time. It is a fun project. I really like the 28-31 bodies for this style of rod build. I have some ideas of what I want the finished project to look like. Now it is just a matter of finding the time and doing it.I have so many other projects in the works.......................http://jackalopefab.com/MM210Synchrowave 200DXMiller XMT350 w/60series feederMiller Bobcat 250 with SGA 100 and spoolgunHTP PlasmaFull Machine shop with everything
Reply:i remember those days i had a 1912 model t frame i had paid 100 bucks for it still had the original banjo rear axle and front I beam axle oh yeah had a huge oil pan was about 4 ft long i figured the trany and engine shared the same oil by the shape it was in well long story short i chopped it ran some pipe cross members and Z cut the back to get rid of that horse shoe shape leaf springs and run coil over suspension. i had put together a 4 link for the back and a 3 link for the front i think the coolest part of my project was it had 1912 and ford name stamped on the frame oh i added a model A axle for the front and 80 model monte carlo 10 bolt  for the rear i wish i would of never sold that project all i needed was a glass body for itLast edited by assassin_works; 08-22-2011 at 06:41 PM.Lincoln Power Arc 4000 Thermal Arc Fabricator 252 iThermal arc 186Thermal Arc 26 tigTweeko 200 amp spool gunHobart AirForce 400WP-17V-12R

Reply:Here are a few update crappy pics. Gives you an idea. The stubs you see sticking up through the flor pans are solid 1" the entire subframe for the seats and belts will have a frame that will be pinned to the stubs for easy removal, etc. Attached Imageshttp://jackalopefab.com/MM210Synchrowave 200DXMiller XMT350 w/60series feederMiller Bobcat 250 with SGA 100 and spoolgunHTP PlasmaFull Machine shop with everything

Reply:Neat-O...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:This is one of those projects I originally wanted kinda "unfinished" looking. As time has gone on, I find myself really scrutinizing some of the previous owners "work". The pigeon crap holding the spliced in van top leaves a lot to be desired. I have a feeling I will be going back and removing everything that was put on prior to my ownership. We'll see. My guess is I will get it running and have to peck away at it until it is like I want it and then take it to the body shop for a nice coat of matte black.Who know though.http://jackalopefab.com/MM210Synchrowave 200DXMiller XMT350 w/60series feederMiller Bobcat 250 with SGA 100 and spoolgunHTP PlasmaFull Machine shop with everything
