Anyone here do any orbital welding? I have been welding pipe for a few years and the company i work for has a AMI 227 orbital welder. Im familiar with it for sanitary fusion welds and i actually like running the machine a lot.... fit up has to be perfect and has to be clean and I'm a bit of a perfectionist so it kinda fits me good but anyway how many people here use orbital welders for pipe or sanitary and what are some of your stories or experiences?Last edited by CMJ87; 05-06-2013 at 09:16 PM.

Reply:I run orbital welders every day. The same Ami 227 as you but mostly Polysoude welders.
Reply:I've been wanting to get into it more most of the time we use it in pharma or food but the machine comes out like once a yr.... The bought a head for pipe but I haven't had the chance to use it my company would rather use manual which I don't mind because Its still work.... Showdog does your company travel?
