Reply:millerkiller88 This bottle is a trophy, an artifact - and eventually it is going to fail. If my math is correct, your bottle is due for hydro this year.If you exchange your bottle and it fails, it will just be scraped; history and provenance will be lost. For preservation sake, I would point out its age to your LWS and ask: 1] that they retire the bottle in recognition of its exceptional service, 2] give the bottle to you [void without numericial defacement] and,3] give you an exchange without charge.I'm am aware of all of the bottle ownership and exchange issues that arise on this forum; I have none of problems discussed because I know how Bottle-World works. If I had your artifact, my LWS would eagerly do all that I have suggested, just to be apart of the provenance.Opus
Reply:Most places would give it back after THEY drilled a hole in it.

Reply:Nice. Think you guys can convince the young kid at the fill station that you simply went ahead and got all your hydros for the next 100 years in advance to simplify things? .No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:Considering the apparent lack of quality in modern steels, the old bottle is probably better than new....and considering where the modern steel comes from.....If it passes the displacement test, who cares.

Reply:It is actually not a swastika. It is a box with a plus inside of it. Mac
Reply:Actually the boxed ones where originally true swastikas that where stamped again to hide the symbol after WWII. I've seen one or two that didn't have the second stamping but the ones that have been boxed are more common.Last edited by irish fixit; 05-19-2013 at 12:34 PM.Millermatic 252XMT 304'sDynasty 280DXHypertherm PowerMax 1250Miller Trailblazer 302 EFIOptima PulserXR feeder and XR Edge gun and more athttp://members.dslextreme.com/users/waynecook/index.htm
