No pics, my camera takes horrible night time pictures.  Anyway I just completed welding out 2 ten inch diameter by 12 inch deep bores, put two passes in each one, it took right at 12 hours and I burned about 45 pounds of .035 hard wire.  The last pass on the last bore, I switched to ESAB Mig-6 and I have to say that I am NOT impressed with it.  I've used it alot before, but never bore welding.  I don't know if it's a problem with cast or what, but I fought it pretty hard.  I also figured out that it is extremely sensitive to changes in gas flow.  Time for the fun stuff now, I get to cut most of it out!!!It's not a bucket, it's the stick-------the bucket attaches to it.Last edited by ExpatWelder; 10-11-2011 at 10:01 PM.Reason: messed up6 Miller Big Blue 600 Air Paks2 Miller 400D6 Lincoln LN-25's4 Miller Xtreme 12VS2 Miller Dimension 812 4 Climax BW-3000Z bore welders Hypertherm 65 and 85Bug-O Track BugPair of Welpers

Reply:Putting the metal back in is no fun... but cutting it back out, now that really really sucks.

Reply:Looks good I must agree that boring is for the most part not that fun. Are you using a bore welding set up or hand welding?? I use a boretec welder it works great if the wire is of good quality. I like the way your cutting set up is mounted looks a little easier than my home made ones. But they haven't failed me yet. I have only used the York cutting machine

Reply:Didn't get all the boring done last night so I removed everything but the bearings planning to come in tonite and finish it.  Got here and they had moved the machine and sat the stick on the ground where it sank and moved all my bearings and bent two of them.  Had to pretty much start over on the setup and alignment.6 Miller Big Blue 600 Air Paks2 Miller 400D6 Lincoln LN-25's4 Miller Xtreme 12VS2 Miller Dimension 812 4 Climax BW-3000Z bore welders Hypertherm 65 and 85Bug-O Track BugPair of Welpers

Reply:Got the boring done, went to the shop to get the bushings and some nitrogen..........no nitrogen, had 60 gallons yesterday????   Earlier today I got a call from a contractor wanting to borrow some nitrogen, he said he seen some in my shop, I told him no because I had a bunch of bushings to install tonite..............I think he "borrowed" it anyway.  The only thing worse than a thief is a lying thief!6 Miller Big Blue 600 Air Paks2 Miller 400D6 Lincoln LN-25's4 Miller Xtreme 12VS2 Miller Dimension 812 4 Climax BW-3000Z bore welders Hypertherm 65 and 85Bug-O Track BugPair of Welpers
Reply:The boys on day shift found some nitrogen and stuck the 4 bushings in the stick as well as 4 that had to be replaced in the power links, they also got one track laced, we have to lace the other track, put on the travel motor guards and hang the bucket tonight and this one is DONE.6 Miller Big Blue 600 Air Paks2 Miller 400D6 Lincoln LN-25's4 Miller Xtreme 12VS2 Miller Dimension 812 4 Climax BW-3000Z bore welders Hypertherm 65 and 85Bug-O Track BugPair of Welpers
