Hyd lift table plans??

Does anyone have any plans or some good photos of a lift table? would like something to help get stuff off the truck and make it easier to work on. Ive never seen one up close, but i dont think they would be to tough to make. I would need a long stroke jack correct? like one from an engine hoist? Thank you for the help
Reply:Here are some pics of my 1000 lb. capacity hydraulic scissor table lift I bought from Habor Freight for the same reason you want one. I am not a big fan of Harbor Freight, but for something like this it was worth the money. I think I kept watching their ads until it was at $175. and I got it. I really think you would be hard pressed to make it for that. Anyway, here are the pics. Attached Images

Reply:Trapper, thanks for the photos! You are right, for that price I couldn't buy all the material. Im not a fan of theirs either, but may give one a try. Have you had any issues with it, have to re do anything?
Reply:I havn't had it very long, but so far its working fine. As far as Harbor freight is concerned, I will not buy any thing with a motor on it and I will not buy anything with a cutting edge as they just don't last. I go to alot of auctions and I see more and more power tools from them that are just spent. China is the leader in the world at copying anything anybody else made at about half the quality. Enough said about that, I don't want to get a debate started here.

Reply:I have the HF unit, and for the price it's pretty great.  Unfortunately, the price has gone up from $250 to $350, which means on sale it's going to be closer to $239 to $249 instead of the old sale price of $189 or $199.  Still, with a 20% coupon it's currently going to cost you about $189.  Worth it, in my opinion.Somewhere I've got a video of me loading a 500# engine into the back of my little Jeep with it.  Easy one-man job with the lifting table.Jack OlsenMy garage website
Reply:What lifting range (low height to high height) and how much do you want to be able to lift?  A post lift style would be really simple.  Create 4 sleeved pieces of tubing to locate the table and put a bottle jack under it.  http://www1.mscdirect.com/cgi/NNSRIT...-SearchResultsA sissor lift style requires a lot more with pivot points and the need for a cylinder, hand pump, hoses, etc.
