Argon Regulator fittings help

Reply:To me it looks like a B oxygen fitting."Most" inert flow equipment uses CGA 032.If the fitting in the regulator has a metered orfice then just re-use your hose end fitting.

Reply:ok this is turning out to be a nightmare , I went to my local LWS store (Haun ) 50 miles away today .  They pretty much told me I got the wrong gas hose , that I don't need it and that I needed to buy one of their hoses to make it work , and that I didn't need the hose I bought (this was after they told me they didn't have the correct size fitting I needed) .  The outlet of my regulator has a fitting in it that is 1/4 npt x 3/8 compression male threads.  I have gone to lowes , my local plumbing supply , an electrical supply that had fittings , no1 could figure it out. if I removed the fitting that was in the regulator there is a small orifice in the end that is screwed into the regulator ; im guessing that needs to be there for a reason ?  im only asking because I found a 1/4 x 1/8" barb fitting that will work perfect if that orifice fitting isn't in there , but I bet it needs to be there.  thanks - art if I could only find a female 1/4 x female 3/8 compression coupler I would be set"I'd Rather die on my feet , than live on my knee's"64' Lincoln Sa 200 Redface Code 5496 - Sold 72' Lincoln Idealarc 250 (Roundtop) MillerMatic Vintage

Reply:thank you for the pictures , I finally got it , I ended up just saying frig it and cut the old rubber hose the with the right fitting on it for the regulator and connected the old hose and the new hose together.  This new hose that I got is really thin stuff , but supposed to be high quality stuff . so my setup is Weldcraft wp-17v-25R , 105z57 power block adapter , weldcraft 45v10R braided gas hose (1/8" ID), connected to that argon regulator , most likely I will purchase that flowmeter seeing as that seems like a great deal.  I'm guessing seeing as a few people have that brand the quality is pretty good ? thanks a lot - ArtLast edited by thinktwicez71; 06-20-2013 at 11:08 PM."I'd Rather die on my feet , than live on my knee's"64' Lincoln Sa 200 Redface Code 5496 - Sold 72' Lincoln Idealarc 250 (Roundtop) MillerMatic Vintage

Reply:If it is a flow GAUGE the outlet fitting will have a metered orfice.If you remove the metered orfice you no longer have a flow gauge.
