Hougen 925 Auto Feed

Recently, we purchased 2 of the Hougen 925 Auto Feed drills.  So I figured I would throw my 2 cents in.They are great drills... One thing I noticed right off the bat was the smaller mag-base. With less of a foot print, I found it easier to fit in tighter spaces. Just because it's smaller, dosnt mean it has any more trouble hanging on. The auto-lube worked without any issues.The auto-feed and shutoff (yeah, I said auto-shutoff) was worth it's weight in gold. You have the option of auto or manual. When in auto, A lever can be flipped and the drill will work it's magic until it has figured out that the bit has gone all the way through the metal (That's where the black magic kicks in). I have no idea how it knows when it's done drilling. On the down side: If you dont have a really sharp bit, the auto feed will continue to push while the bit dosnt dig out as efficiently as it used to, so the drill will shut off before the hole is dug all the way through. I think the feed will actually push the base off of the metal and throw the safety censer and kill the juice to the motor.The bottom line is, if you have a big job that involves alot of holes, these are the answer to lower labor costs: One person can drill as man as two people. Auto-feed and auto-stop make that dream a reality.And no, Hougen or it's affiliate's pay me money or benefits. Reply:That is sweet, we had an old jancy at where I worked before self employment came along, I can see where 2 of these would have saved us so much time.
