Picked up a torch for the first time today...

in the second session of welding class.  We're starting with oxy-fuel and working into MIG & stick.  Today late in the session we spent some time firing up the torches and running a few beads on some metal.  The prior class and the early part of today was spent on safety, how the torches, regulators, & tanks work, safety, the dangers of acetylene and oxygen gases & tanks, safety, how to start and stop a torch, safety, and the basic mechanical concepts of oxyfuel welding.  Then we spent some time on safety.My first two beads ever with a torch:Second two beads:These were run using oxygen at 2psi and acetylene at 2psi with no filler rod.  We start filler rod next week (it's a Saturday only class).Dang, this is pretty exciting!!
