Stay with me, this turns into some tig consumables i bought from this guy, not a big deal but a worthwhile story i think...i've been shopping around for a vertical mill.. bridgeport style..  would like to find a good deal on one, machine shops are getting away from them because the prototraks and now the new hybrid cnc's are just more productive...  alot of deals about, if you are willing to travel.. dont buy from the machine tool houses, they mark stuff way up, individuals or auctions are the way to buy.. well i went and looked at an old cincinnati toolmaster, it was old enough that i wasnt familiar with it, thinking mid to late 50's, but i do know the guy was asking too much for it, wish he would have got the pics to me before i drove the 1 1/2 hrs to look at it..  wasnt that big of a deal because i drove a little cavalier that gets 30mpg..  anyways heres a pic of the mill, he had it listed for $1500, i told him he probably should relist it for $1000, i didnt do it in a demeaning manor, more of an informative manor...  anyways he was willing to deal, he dropped to $1000 the instant i said i was a machinist..  before we were done he was asking how much i would be willing to give for it.. i felt kind of bad, but i didnt really want it. i want a bit more machine, powerfeed and digital readouts.. theres a picture of the mill below, i believe a guy could get it for $750  it was converted to 220 single phase.. it would definetly be better than one of those mill drills from hf or such. i wish i had all the money that mill has made over the yrs.. a little work and a cheap digital readout and it would probably be great for a small garage.. anyways we were shootin the bull, ended up staying and chatting with him and his dad for an hr, real nice folks..  he grabbed a baggy full of gas lens and nozzles, some collet bodies, collets and tungstens...  he had just sold a precision tig 225 and forgot to give the guy the consumables with it..  got them for $25, thought that was a pretty good deal..  so the trip turned out to be worth while, met some nice folks, and got a good deal after all..pictures of the bag of consumables below also. Reply:You did well. Cincinnati made some quality stuff, that is probably one of the smaller pieces of kit they put out. You prove a point I've always believed. I'll check on a lot of classified listings of stuff I don't intend to buy because, more often than not, they will have something else they are looking to sell even if it isn't listed. I went to look at a clapped out SB lathe a while back some retired T&D guy had. He had just sold the lathe before I arrived. No problem, he had a pallet of taps and dies sitting there. 4-40 up to 3/4" all  Morse, Greenfield, etc. brands, plug/taper/bottoming NOS. $110 it's mine. Haven't touched a quarter of them yet. On the way out the door he asks "Do you want a bench grinder?" I said no, I have two. Well, he points to a nice Baldor unit....$25 it's yours. It's mine now.
