Made this for my girlfriends dog..SIN CITY METAL WORKSvisit my YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/user/devvon
Reply:looks great, was hoping for some tig beads but rivets work just as well i suppose.
Reply:Hey wd40,Now that is a slick idea & looks to be quite easy to fab, quick assembly w/pop-rivets, & very cost-effective.......that is a recipe for a PROFITABLE & MARKETABLE product that would sell easily. Bet you could take a few of those to a some pet stores & see if they may sell & you could try a "consignment" tactic to see if the store has success & may want to keep those on stock. I hope you don't mind if I "borrow" your project & make a couple to see how they market. Think I may "engine-turn" one to evaluate aesthetics. Thanks.....DennyComplete Welding/Machine/Fab. Reply:I agree with yorkie, what a great idea! My 6 month old newfie somehow manages to find his paw on the very edge of his bowl, sending food / water flying all over the place, on a fairly regular basis. That seems like it would stabilize the bowls pretty well  Good work!
Reply:Must be a tall dog if ya put his food on the counter.  Sorry, couldn't resist.  Cool project!(Retired) Professional firefighter, amateur everything else I try to do...Oh yeah:  Go Big Red!   (You know: one of the 12 members of the Big 10 cuz we left the 10 members of the Big 12...)

Reply:Man, that is one industrial dog dish!  Nice work.Contrary to popular opinion, I do NOT have a pet turkey that craps molten steel.  It's a goose.
Reply:Hey guys,Well, I guess you can go buy a dog dish/bowl for .99c & yes, you can throw it away when it breaks & get another one for .99c. Really not the idea here now is it? Personally, I find it well-made, would last a long time, & maybe not aesthetically perfect, but was made as a nice project for others to copy, & quite different. Anyone ever see one like it at a pet store or anywhere else? I haven't.I'm gonna make one quite similar, no dimples as I don't have dimple dies, & use polished alum. diamondplate...... just for the he11 of it. I will use my bending technique & make it completely from (1) sheet of d/plate cut to size, plasma cut the holes, & TIG the outside corners....... just for the he11 of it. I'll check to see what the pet stores sell as a "standard" size ss bowl to get proper fit. Then I'll leave one there to see if it sells at the price I will need to cover my expenses with a small profit. That's about all you can do.You know, funny thing is that it WILL SELL!  Know why????  Because there is always someone out there that has to have "something different" that no one else has. Or, perhaps a bit eccentric.....you know the type...... "Oooooo....my little darlin' FiFi would loooooove that."  Yup......they're out there..... $$$$$$$ in their purses/wallets just burnin' a hole to get spent. Ask me how I know......   Here's (3) pics most of the fellows here have seen. The largest alum. d/plate box is $250, the mid size is $200 & the small one is $175 & the engine one is $450. Now.....would you spend that kind of money on a frikkin' mailbox?????? A "plain" 'ol mailbox can be had at TSC or Ace Hardware for what...$20? Yet, I sell these as fast as I can make them. Know why? Yup..... someone's gotta have one....it's different....no one else nearby has one. It's just human nature....why not take advantage of someones' need to have different, lust for the odd/unusual, craving to spend those "idle" $$$$$$ in their wallets. So, now all you youngsters/newbies, those "wondering" what to make, others seeking a creative outlet......MAKE SOMETHING DIFFERENT!  Doesn't matter what so long as it is crafted with excellence in detail & workmanship......you will see. It will sell. Someone, somewhere, will HAVE to HAVE it...... even a dog dish......Denny Attached ImagesComplete Welding/Machine/Fab.
