Reply:Bleh... Destructive tests... Ya, always round those edges on coupons.. My buddies and i at shop have bent plain stock pipe coupons with no weld and witnessed cracks and end tear... Tge steel can have manufacturer defects from the initial cast... Good job brotherSal

Reply:That is Cool! Passing something like this right out of the gate (assume this was the first attempt) makes you feel like the hard work is worth it.
Reply:I remember my first bend test...WAS FREAKING THE HELL OUT! then I passed and the rest is all practice. Congrats man. keep up the good work.

Reply:Congrats.. Now from here on out, all the other tests will be a piece of cake..
Reply:Cool. There's nothing like that feeling of passing your first bend test. Now work on passing more with no inclusions, flawless! Don't forget to take notes! Always take notes of your settings, whatever will help you improve on your next plate. I always use to take notes of my wire speed, amps/volts, gun angle, travel speed, any motions used. Trust me, taking simple notes will help you so much while your in the learning process. Good luck! |
