Hi everyone, I am new to this forum and did some research but could not find a concrete info about welding steel furniture. My question is what types of welding methods ( such as MIG, submerged etc.) we can use welding steel furniture. Your answers will be very important for me. I hope you will share something. Best wishes
Reply:It's steel - I'm guessing mild steel? You can use oxy-acetylene brazing, oxy acetylene fusion welding, you can use stick, you can use mig, you can use flux core, you can use tig, hell you can probably use a resistance welderTry searching on google...
Reply:Thank you for your answerI am already searching for google but can not find something like why we use those welding types, I mean what are their advantages when they are used for steel furniture Thanks againLast edited by kaytug; 12-25-2011 at 12:20 PM.

Reply:Look into MIG. Very easy to learn. Lower equipment and lower consumable cost. Versatile.
Reply:You still there Kaytug?Contrary to popular opinion, I do NOT have a pet turkey that craps molten steel.  It's a goose.

Reply:I like to submerge arc weld my patio furniture. It's easy to do and by far the cheapest method. All you really need is a machine that will run at about 1000 amps and a 55 gallon drum of flux. Then set up the track for the wire feeder and load on 2 60lb spools of 3/32" wire and off you go. Reply:kaytug - I recommend you friction stir weld your patio furniture. I've seen a reduction on the cost per unit by welding that way. Plus you don't need any filler metal.best wishes..."The trouble with quotes on the Internet is that you can never know if they are genuine." - Abraham Lincoln
Reply:I'm hoping we get a lot of youngsters from the goats this winter.  I'm due maybe 5-6 for sure... those will be  ready to butcher the following Christmas, about a year from now... so s BBQ/smoked Cabrito would be a possible.  We've talked about this before, I like the idea if my health holds at all it might just happen  late 2012.I think we scared off the young fella... got any pics of those patio furniture methods?
