Need info!!

Trying to get on a pipeline and need some info on getting on. My rig is just about done ( 2010 chevy 2500hd 4x4, Lincoln SA200 short hood). What kind of test should I be expecting, What kind pay is considered good pipeline pay, Good companies to work for, Do you have to take a test on the job or at the companies office? Reply:Hey if your wanting to pipeline. I suggest 2 things. First depending on your exp. Go get on a pipeline as a helper and turn into a sponge and soak up every god.damn thing you can for a year or so or go buy you a stick of 12" schedule 40 and practice your branch and bellhole test. Also get you a template for a 12" saddle and a pipefitters blue book and make it your bible.

Reply:Weld up- as in weld it up. Not meaning weld it uphill.....And then, after so much work...... you have it in your hand, and you look over to your side...... and the runner has run off. Leaving you holding the prize, wondering when the runner will return.

Reply:For your sake I hope you have some kind of experience with API 1104.There was a graduate from my school a few weeks ago who set his truck up as a rig and thought he was moving to North Dakota to be a pipeliner.He failed his branch "test" in school.. could never even get the saddle to fit properly. So Lord knows what the hell he's doing now. Probably sold the truck, or rented it out.
