I am thinking of trying some dual shield wire for in the shop and for indoor structural stuff on site in a suitcase.I thought i read somewhere that there was a storage procedure. Sort of like 7018.how do you guys that use dual shield all the time store your wire?how long is it in the machine "exposed"Is it more trouble than it is worth for me as a roll would do me a month or so?thanksG
Reply:I have had many people ask me this question and to be honest it is kind of loaded. We do have a specific procedure for storage, but to me it is overkill. Basically you need to put it in a plastic bag (garbage bag) at the end of the day. If you keep the box, put it in the bag and then in the box. The only time you really need to worry about keeping it any where different is when you are using an H4 product that has to keep the Hydrogen level down. Any other time, keep it in a bag and then in the box if you can. One month shouldn't be a problem as long as you put it a bag and in the box. Since you will only go through 1/month keeping the box shouldn't be a problem either.
