hello all,i am new to welding. am considering purchasing a lincoln sp175t. i wold like to know if i can use this welder without the gas hookup, or do i need to use this welder with gas. i know there are different wires to use, with flux no gas, without flux and gas. can this welder weld 1/4'' steel without gas or is gas needed. what is the minimum or maximum thickness steel that gas has to be introduced if any at all.thanks in advance.will post the welder up soon.
Reply:It is capable of welding 1/4" in MULTIPLE passes- it lacks the power for Single pass 1/4" welding- http://www.lincolnelectric.com/asset...oln3/im726.pdfEd Conleyhttp://www.screamingbroccoli.com/MM252MM211 (Sold)Passport Plus & Spool gunLincoln SP135 Plus- (Gone to a good home)Klutch 120v Plasma cutterSO 2020 benderBeer in the fridge
