So I picked up a TA 400MST for really cheap with the initial goal of having a good stick unit. Seems to work fine for that. I'm thinking ahead to what I can do with it. Since it has both MIG and Lift-TIG capability, I figure keeping an eye out for decent add-on equipment in those realms is a smart move. No rush as I am doing pretty much everything stick these days, but if something pops up that is a good deal, I want to know if I can use it with this power supply. In looking at things, it appears that they use a standard control wiring that Miller, etc also use for things like wire feed units, TIG torches, etc. Is this generally the case with these units? It has both a 14 pin and 19 pin round Amphenol-style connector on it. Can I watch for a Miller 22A wire feed or something similar and make that work with this PS or what does it take? What about foot pedals for TIG? An adapter cable isn't a big deal as long as they will work. Surely, I realize I am not up on those processes yet, but I am watching the ads and want to be able to get something when it pops up, if it will work. Then I can start learning those processes, and probably take a class in them (like I have with stick).Thanks,Dave-DaveXMT304 with: 22A Feeder, or HF251 Hi Freq DC TIG air cooled |
