Howdy all!I need welding project suggestions. For blueprint/weld symbol class (college) we are required to draw up a set of prints to a project, and we can create the project if we want to. I'm looking for suggestions, I've thought about a headache rack for my pickup, a new rear bumper (I have a receiver hitch, so don't lecture me on using it to pull with, cause I won't be). I'd like to build something I could use for my custom fab shop in the future, so I'm thinking maybe a bender of some sort for flat stock? I'd really like a bender that could also do square tubing.I have completed all of my classes for SMAW, GMAW mild steel, and Oxy-Acetylene, as well as O/A cutting, just to give you an idea of what types of welding I've done. Thanks!Miller Performance AD Helmet - Camo Edition Soon to have: Jackson HSL 100 - Forest Digi CamoMiller Thunderbolt AC/DC((Currently at welding school))
Reply:i am taking symbols and specs as well. i dont have to do this but we have to draw something to scale at some point. my idea would be a disc golf basket. it seems challenging to make and blueprint, and fun.
Reply:I'd say do something useful as well. Benders, press breaks, Material rack, welding table, welder cart, tool rack. Not sure if you're rural or not, but some of the other common things are bail spikes, airator, feed tray. Other useful things are BBQ's, tables, benches, Desks, book shelfs, lamps, coat racks, Truck boxes, hand carts, wagons, etc. There are no problems. There are only solutions. It's your duty to determine the right one.Hobart Handler 210Airco 225 Amp MSM Stinger

Reply:I have plans for a pipe bender, if you want to use them for reference. You could scale it up or down as you needed, but could use these as an idea.If you want it, I'll post it here as it's a pdf file.MarkI haven't always been a nurse........Craftsman 12"x36" LatheEnco G-30B MillHobart Handler 175Lincoln WeldandPower 225 AC/DC G-7 CV/CCAdd a Foot Pedal to a Harbor Freight Chicago Electric 165A DC TIG PapaLion's Gate Build
