Reply:Thanks, nice stuff!DavidReal world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:Im curious what that magnet looking thing is in the 4th pic? Nice repair. Nice work with the torch too... I would have destroyed that wheel trying to do something even remotely close to that
Reply:Mag Particle Tester.  It'll pick up surface cracking or cracks that you can't see by eye on the surface with the use of iron oxide (that red stuff!).Did you torch gouge that?  If so, nice work!  I like my arc air!  I can wash things off with a torch like a hot damn, but my abilities to gouge with one is up in the air!Last edited by mb_welder; 02-17-2012 at 08:46 PM.

Reply:Awfully impressive prep work...especially the torch work. I didn't even know that could be done. Not to be offensive, but being a newbie, is that burn through at the end, a lack of filler, or a pic before finished.... I'm not sureif I'm seeing it right. Thanks. And ya I'm just a city boy from the rust belt. How do you know the blacksmith's dog? When you hollar at him he makes a bolt for the door!

Reply:So, what is the procedure to gouge something out like that with a torch?  It looks like you've got a special bent tip on there, is that correct?  I'm assuming its a lot of start and stop from the looks of the cut.Miller 250x & Lincoln V205-TSmith Oxy-Prop torch
