Welding machine problem

hello all I have a Lincoln 100 HD that i got from Home Depot about, O i dont know, 10 years ago works awesome but just the other day i was welding up something and i herd a pop and my wire feed is on like warp speed, so i replaced the wire feed switch thingy, still didnt fix problem so then i baught a new circuit board and replaced it, and still didnt fix the problem... has anyone seen or heard of this hapening if so please help. my next step is to take my machine in and get them to look at it with a $80 per hour fee....

Reply:Sounds like you are getting full power to the wire feed motor. The controller board was a good first guess.Look at the back of to the filler-wire speed control potetiameter (volume control). See if one of the wires has come off. There should be 2 wires, though there may be 3. Reply:yes, the wire speed control was changed to a new one and the wires are soldered to the potetiameter, i looked and nothing wrong looking but i gave up and sent it to a lincoln repair shop. Thanks for the info guys
