making trimmer racks the band saw and sander works great Attached Images
Reply:I like it, can you get close ups of the welds?DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:Very practical and good execution too.Now if I can add some grief to this post:- this is forum for welders, so, you might as well get a little technical - material, overall dims, welding settings (machine, wire, current, gas). So, the next time somebody wants this he would have an idea...-about the structure. It seems like your trimmers are huge (you needed a very serious rack for them) but the whole structure clinging on small strip of steel at the botom. So, my feeling when the rack is fully loaded and you have sidewise bump the whole structure may collaps or even break the trailer. Please, forgive my critique. Only ment to be constructive and friendly (best to my abilities, whatever those are... kinda keep asking myself...) Again I admired your project. Just trying to be helpful to you, myself and may be others. Please, share more with us...
Reply:I was thinking the same thing...no reinforcement for a probable side load.Anything worth doing is worth doing RIGHT
Reply:Sorry to bring an old post up, but how is the rack doing? Do your trimmers rotate and slide around inside the rack? Thanks! |
