Hey yall!!Well, here are my latest projects. Ive been having a streak of tire-kickers and bad luck finding actual paying welding jobs out here, so instead of sitting around all day, I decided to be proactive and start building and selling things. And so, I built a pair of 3 point carryalls. I did all the welds with 1/8" 7018 running on the good ole' stickmate, and I feel that this year's crop of carryalls is better than the ones that I made last year. On these, I drilled 20 holes in each for mounting boards, tie-down ropes, etc to, as well as mitering the ends of the forks so it is easier to "get under" something to pick it up. And then, I put in a pair of 5" gussets to re-enforce where the forks meet the frame.I had mixed feelings about the gussets being there, because although they do make the units stronger, they can potentially get in the way of loads. And then, I thought about what we always used our carryall for, moving rolls of fence, fence posts, chunks of firewood, etc. They wouldn't have been an inconvenience for me, and hopefully they won't be for anyone else. Anyway, just wanted to share a few pictures and the videos of the build, I thought these were fun to build. I like to think they went well, except for a "minor" mishap with one of the frames. I hope you all enjoy it, and have a good weekend everybody [Account Abandoned 8/8/16 Please Do Not Attempt Contact Or Expect A Reply]. See you on YouTube! -ChuckE2009

Reply:Looks real good, except I would recommend on the miter you made on the end to run it the other way. Cut a triangle out of the verticle piece of angle iron and bend the top piece down and weld it. That way you could get them Under something you are trying to pick up. The end would be sloped down to the ground to wedge underneath the load instead of the way you have it. You could also keep on hand several colors of tractor paint to make it match whatever brand color of tractor the customer has eg John Deere green, International red, Kubota orange etc. That way you could have some with just a primer coat for this purpose, and some already painted if the customer doesn't care if it matches and just wants to buy it now. Keep up the good work.

Reply:Lanse, I like your posts and videos and I really like your enthusiasm. At your young age, if you decide to make welding your career, I know you'll enjoy it and if you do, its not really work. Anyway, the only thing I will add is you may downsize your picture a bit so the text can be read. Your doing great.
Reply:Nice clean simple design You would be surprised at how much strength that little gusset adds.If you cant fix it with a hammer, it must be an electrical problem."Boy, everyone starts with a full bag of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience before the bag of luck is empty."-Grandad circa 1990ish
Reply:Those look great!  You said you sold some last summer? Nice!  I might steal your idea and see if I can sell a few around here.  I could use some supplementary income!- MondoMember, AWSLincoln ProMIG 140Lincoln AC TombstoneCraftsman Lathe 12 x 24 c1935Atlas MFC Horizontal MillCraftsman Commercial Lathe 12 x 36 c1970- - - I'll just keep on keepin' on.
Reply:Got to love making money doing something you love.  The one criticism I see is you need to clean up your BBs.
Reply:Good work Lanse.
Reply:How much can you get out of them? Hopefully more than the $100 TSC pos
