I needed to bend some sheet metal but I did not have a brake and could not justify spending $ 250.00 for a cheep brake so I decide to make one myself. I still have to get a two small springs to lift the angle iron that acts as the clamp to hold it up .The thickest material I have bent is 1/8"thick 4" wide Aluminum diamond plate. Here are a few pic's Attached Images
Reply:That's the best simple design I've seen for a small bending brake. You have all the correct geometry for it to work properly and clearances needed with minimal work to build. Reply:the only bends I have pictures of at this time are a few bends on my mini truck frame section that had to be replaced 3/32 thick steel by about 12" long. I know the welds need more work but I was running out to time I had to get the truck out of the shop I have to go back over them soon . but thre are the pics" Attached Images
