oil light

I have a Lincoln SA-200, and the oil light went off, but my welder machine still running, welding, and the revs go up and down good, the oil is ok, i recently changed the oil pan.  Is there a big problem?Last edited by 7A749; 10-13-2013 at 03:53 PM.
Reply:I would check: Bulb burned out or bad connection? Bad or clogged oil pressure sensor? Depending upon the circuit design, it should change from ground to open or vice versa when the engine starts. Wire came off of sensor or other open circuit condition in wiring.?Is there a relay in the circuit? They can fail. Just some guesses. Reply:I would install a manual gauge ASAP to make sure it is not an engine issue. If the pressure is ok then figure out the electrical.  If you don't trust the light don't run it. Dan D

Reply:i found it!!! is a pressure switch, and i started the engine without, so i think this is the problem, i'am gonna change it. i'll let it know to you my experience

Reply:Did the engine run before you changed the pressure switch? If it did the pressure switch was working and did not need replaced. I do not see a "oil light" anywhere near the pressure switch/oil filter. So still not sure what light you are talking about.ChrisAuction Addict
