on 4130 chromoly 1 5/8 round tube .083 wall, what amps would you use. at the shop i work at one guy uses 55 amps with the pulse set at 07 and another guy uses 65 amp with the pulse at 04. this welder is new to me, ive never used pulse before. i would have set my machine to about 90 to 100 and just used the pedal to adjust the amps. they set it and floor it. so when i use there machine i set it at 60 with no pulse and it makes all my welds look to hot, they look grey rather then shiny. i know every welder is different but i just cant make a good bead with this machine. its a miller syncrowave 200. mine at home is a lincoln squarewave 175 and i love it and think i can make some nice welds with it. anyway what amps would you guys recommend? and when pulsing when do you dip the rod. the way they do it is let it pulse 2 or 3 times then dip and move.
Reply:Check their welds out and if they are good, learn how they do it. theres always something new to learn. ive welded for more than 60 years and I just learned there is something out there that pulses when it works. Might be just what I want for that 20 gauge aluminum I want to weld. I'll check it out. Mac

Reply:Donald, I want to thank you for that post. I learned a lot.
Reply:2nd that magnifying lens, I'm young have great vision and it helped tremendously, being able to CLEARLY see the puddle made my welds 10X more consistent.
Reply:What magnification level do you all suggest?
