I'm getting mixed reviews on this. My local shop said to use red tungsten for steel and green for aluminum. I emailed eastwood to see what is coming with my new welder and got this response.YES, it comes w/ the collets & thye RED tungsten for use w/ STEEL
Reply:I use Red for EVERYTHING.Supposedly Red is good with a TRANSFORMER machine not so good with a INVERTER as far as aluminum goes.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:Most people use same tungsten for both.Red is excellent for steel, and adequate for alum.I personally like 1.5 lanthanated for steel and alum. No chance of mixing them up. Until I get rid of the last of my red, I will only use for steel. Green I gave away years ago. There really is no confusion, you should just try them and choose for yourself. And by the way, counter people at your LWS really don't have a clue.Weld like a "WELDOR", not a wel-"DERR" MillerDynasty700DX,Dynasty350DX4ea,Dynasty200DX,Li  ncolnSW200-2ea.,MillerMatic350P,MillerMatic200w/spoolgun,MKCobraMig260,Lincoln SP-170T,PlasmaCam/Hypertherm1250,HFProTig2ea,MigMax1ea.

I have yet to find a resource on gas saying how much to use, how you know when you have too much or too little. What type of filler rods should be used for cast aluminum? I'm assuming the same as regular aluminum? And for welding pot metal, what filler rods do you use?I'm SUPER excited to get my new tig and try stuff out.
Reply:I saw your thread about mix gas vs argon for aluminum. To me the aluminum looks better, but I'm still new to it.
