Latest project, a platform for filling the fuel tank at our pumphouse. The 4 cylinder diesel engine is 2' or so above the floor and since it is a fire supply pump it has a whole crapload of regs that have to be followed. Only one that was my concern is the fueltank (inside) has to be a certain height above the fuel transfer pump. Time all was said and done it means the fill for the fuel tank is 10-11' above the ground (outside) which means the poor sob needs a platform to fill it from. It's 8' to the top of the 4' x 4' deck, railing is 42" high made from 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 x 3/16 tubing, platform legs are 2 x 2 x 3/16 tubing, treads are 1 1/2 x 11 3/4 galvanized grip strut grating, stringers are 10 @ 8 jr stringer channel. Took the stringers off after I took this pick so I can get it dipped. After it's reassembled and installed I'll try and remember to take a final pic.....Mike Attached Images |
