Ok my second newbe question,Is there a single rescore that can tell you what alloys you can weld and which ones you cant? I know there are some that you cant and some that you cant even bend without breaking. It would be nice to have a quick reference chart in the way of a poster or something like that. Do you all know where I might resource something like that? Thanks, Dave.

Reply:As a start, I would say that if an alloy isn't on a filler selection chart, it's either not weldable or would require some extra research. I would also add that even though an alloy is on the chart, it doesn't mean that it would be an easy go. Hope that helps a bit. http://www.alcotec.com/us/en/support...tion-Chart.pdfEdit: oops. Ed beat me to it.
Reply:Simple version: If the alloy number begins with a 2 or a 7, you can't weld it, with very few exceptions. Most other aluminum alloys are weldable; those charts will tell you which filler to use.JohnA few weldersA lot of hammersA whole lot of C-clamps
