Reply:Not and have it work. The Syncrowave is a CC powersource. To use that feeder you need a CV powersource. It is possible to run a voltage sensing feeder from a CC powersource but the results are probably not what you have in mind. The VS feeder mimics CV by constantly adjusting the wire speed. With small wire and short arc, the feeder simply can't adjust fast enough to get this to work right. With large wire fluxcore in spray it will run, but that really is only practical if you need to weld large beads on heavy material. It's not what most think of when they think of using a wire feeder. Also overhead and vertical can be a PITA if you are up in spray mode.If you just want a more powerful mig than what you have, a stand alone 220v mig would be your best choice. Thats usually the most cost effective route. If for some reason you already have or bought the S22 feeder, you will want to get a CV capable power source like an XMT 304 to make this work..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:Thanks again DSW. The mig I have works great except it has no fan and hits it's duty cycle very quickly. I was welding that sheet metal to bar with it in the hot sun. That couldn't have helped the situation. I had no choice though.TA Arcmaster 300CM3XMT 304S22P12 suitcase feederX-Treme 12VSOptima pulserTA161SMaxstar 150STLHypertherm PM45OP setupStihl 020AVP, 039, 066 Magnum |
