I have a weld test using some inconel for Siemens on turbines. I have never welded any inconel but I hear it is very similar to welding stainless.I assume that it will have the same coloring as stainless. Any suggestions on welding inconel?
Reply:ehh, imo inconel is more like welding carbon than stainless. It flows more similar to carbon if you ask me. but my only experience with it is stick or mig welding. I know for stick welding you weld at a lower amperage than you would for carbon.
Reply:Inconel welds like stainless wets out good, select the the right size tungsten for the application, I use a gas lens..... Miller Dynasty 350Twenty Six HammersThree Crow BarsBig Rock
Reply:I figured it couldn't be that difficult but I just wanted to have some idea and not start it unless I had a litte idea of what it's going to do.
Reply:As I remember since I don't do any aircraft welding much anymore it is pretty easy stuff to work with...... Miller Dynasty 350Twenty Six HammersThree Crow BarsBig Rock |
