I recently welded in some 1/4 alum supports to beef up the transom on my fishing boat. I Tig welded most of the braces in but had to take the boat to a local welding shop and have them to finish zipping it up with a mig gun. Upon leaving the shop I decided I was going to buy a 300-350amp mig welder. I have been on craigslist.ebay and newspaper ads all over and have found a couple of lIncoln Power Mig 300 for sale. Some are in really good condition as descriped by the seller. Some used very little. I am looking for some input on this welder as I plan to use it mainly for alum to 3/8 thick material. While searching here and other sites I found this welder can be upgraded to 350 amps. The welders are in the 1500-2000 dollar range. I will not be able to test them out and will mainly be trusting the sellersBased on me buying a good condition unit what is your thoughts on this welder? Thank you.NetmanLast edited by netman; 08-07-2011 at 03:47 PM.Lincoln Power Mig 300 with PythonLincoln SquareWave Tig 255 Hypertherm Powermax 45 HH120 w/argon
