Reply:Yeah that's an old Dynamic Mark 35 Arc Welder, if I remember right, they weld, braze, solder and cut. Produced by the Dynamic Welder Company out of Chicago Ill. That's about all I can tell you about it.
Reply:I have a carbon arc torch that I use on my miller buzzbox. works great for freeing frosen bearings and nuts etc. Called it hot wrenching when I was in the navy. The owners manual that came with a lincoln tombstone I once had said the carbon arc torch cold be used with a filler rod to weld aluminum. Never have tried it though. I would imagine it qwould be similar to oxyfuel welding. If you can find the carbon rods they are kinda cool. Rods burn slower on ac then dc from what I am told.

Reply:I got the worst arc flash from that welder . Ive had many and that one made me almost blind for 3 whole days. A friend gave it to me about 52 years ago and I had no hood and it was so little a spark that I thought it wasn't bright enough to give me a flash. well I used it for a heat source to solder a big hole in a Willis Aero radiator, for a couple hours and I suffered Bad. Reply:Kinda strange that it'll run on 115 volts DC. Makes me think that there in no transformer in there, as they don't play nice w/ DC.Campbell Hausfeld 80 Flux Core.Mastercraft AC-230 Buzz box.
Reply:There are only large resisters in box. When you resist electricity the voltage drops. the amperage goes up. Mac |
