Reply:BC, when you welded the triangular shaped pieces (angle iron?) to the top of the chambers, looks like about 2" stich weld every 4" or so.Do you back purge something like that?Con Fuse!Miller Dynasty 350Millermatic 350P-Spoolmatic 30AMiller Multimatic 200Hypertherm PowerMax 1000G3Miller Maxstar 200DX

Reply:I find it odd that the fore line tube had a simple KF flange fitting, while the smaller ports were Con-Flat. The latter is used with vacuum chambers that achieve a higher vacuum, while the KF style is for rough vacuum.KF is a simple metal ring with a rubber o ring that sits between the two pieces and has an external clamp to compress them together. The Con-Flat has a copper gasket that sits on a lipped edge and then 6 bolts crush the two sides.I was a semiconductor equipment tech for 25 or so years.Lincoln Idealarc 250 (circa 1962)Lincoln Weldpak 155 w/Mig KitLincoln Squarewave TIG 175

Reply:Papaharley is correct in that the chambers should have a consistency of port configurations or types of connections. KF is obviously for evacaution pumping but those conflats are most likely for vacuum level gauges? Gauges come in both 'flavors' for ports. Is this a commercial chamber or R&D? Semiconductor is one word, no hypens :-). Very nice welds!
