I need to temporarily use my water hose(city water) to cool my tig, does anyone know of an adapter available, or where I can find one??( I have searched about 20 pages and could not find what I'm looking for)Lincoln pro mig 180Lincoln Square Wave Tig 300/wp 20/home built water cooler Victor, Purox, Harris, O/A welding/cutting setupsVintage Craftsman drill pressVintage Craftsman/Atlas 12"x 36'' lathe7''x 12'' w/c band saw Everlast 140 st
Reply:Western Enterprises make fittings that will adapt from the left-hand water fitting-to-pipe thread. you can then adapt from the pipe thread to whatever you need on your city water. Your LWS should be able to get it for you, or any number of on-line vendors. I can help you with part numbers later if needed, but I'm short on time right now...
Reply:Just get a water hose to pipe thread adapter (should be able to get one at any local hardware store / home center) and then use a standard tig to pipe thread adapter like is used on a solenoid or water cooler. Be sure to at least use a screen washer (like for a washing machine) or filter on it. If city water pressure is on the high side then a regulator for a camper is a good idea as well. If you can't find them local then McMaster Carr has all the stuff needed.Millermatic 252XMT 304'sDynasty 280DXHypertherm PowerMax 1250Miller Trailblazer 302 EFIOptima PulserXR feeder and XR Edge gun and more athttp://members.dslextreme.com/users/waynecook/index.htm
Reply:I finally got chance to go to the welding and hardware store's today, and they told me the adapter I was looking for is unavailable and/or does not exist. Welds4d if you could provide a part#, that would be great.... I did look Western Ent. and they appear to have what I need but I'm not exactly positive on the size, thread etcLincoln pro mig 180Lincoln Square Wave Tig 300/wp 20/home built water cooler Victor, Purox, Harris, O/A welding/cutting setupsVintage Craftsman drill pressVintage Craftsman/Atlas 12"x 36'' lathe7''x 12'' w/c band saw Everlast 140 st
Reply:It looks like you want the Western Enterprises part # AW-15, which is an adapter from 1/4" male pipe to the 5/8" (size B) left hand water fitting for your torch. You should be able to find something like a garden hose adapter along with the necessary couplings and/or reducers to hook it up to the AW-15from lowes or a decent hardware store. You can then run a water hose from the power lead side of your rig to a drain. You can get the adapter at weldingsupply.com, just search for aw-15.Last edited by welds4d; 08-26-2011 at 01:44 PM.Reason: added web site reference
