Got a heck of a deal on this Lincoln Squarewave 175 TIG setup. Finally get to start learning this process. The owner tried twice for about 30 minutes when he got it, and gave up because he didn't like having to regrind his tungsten every few minutes when he dipped it in the puddle. About 30 minutes on each try is what he said, then after that, he would go to his stick or MIG welder. He didn't even realize this machine could do stick. He had the stinger set on top of a tool box and forgot until I mentioned it came with one.Got various filler rods, spare torch cups, and a box of 2 percent thoriated tungstens. The bottle is owned, not leased, and is chock full of Argon. All of this and a nice cart for a ways south of a grand.Yes, I'm a happy camper tonight.Papa Attached ImagesLincoln Idealarc 250 (circa 1962)Lincoln Weldpak 155 w/Mig KitLincoln Squarewave TIG 175

Reply:Originally Posted by DSWCongrats. I think you'll be quite happy with that machine. Looks like you picked up a great deal. This is the kind of deal I always think about when guys ask questions about what cheap import they should get. With a bit of patience and some hard looking deals like this can be found out there quite frequently. There's usually almost no "risk" when it comes to a machine like this even if it is "used".
Reply:Originally Posted by RollandThe deals are out there if you can wait, it took me a year to find this one. But since I do mostly gun work and metal art it works out perfectly for me. Besides I wanted to learn to tig weld aluminum before I die.

Reply:Very nice!!!! Enjoy!!!!!!!
Reply:That is my exact machine. Very very nice reliable machine indeed! I got mine used with a cart as well and never had one problem with it. FYI welding 1/4" aluminum all day will make the overheat protection kick on.

Reply:What most people who don't own or use one are probably not aware of is that the SW175 is one of the smoothest stick welding machines I have ever used. So even if you are not too sure you want/need a tig, it is an excellent stick welder as well."The reason we are here is that we are not all there"SA 200Idealarc TM 300 300MM 200MM 25130a SpoolgunPrecision Tig 375Invertec V350 ProSC-32 CS 12 Wire FeederOxweld/Purox O/AArcAirHypertherm Powermax 85LN25
