Starting January 1st I would like to see this kick off! My plan is every 2 weeks send a blueprint for a relatively low input cost project to beginner welders. The longer they subscribe the difficulty of the project increases. Each subscription costs 15 dollars a month. If a picture of every completed project is sent in at the end of the year they will receive welding consumables a grinder chipping hammer etc.  This will encourage those with interests in welding and hopefully spark more interest. Do you guys think this is a good idea or if it will work? They can sell their completed projects for money to use in aquiring tools and material. Would any of you guys like to sponsor a beginner? Reply:You gonna have guys make gates, magazine holders and carts for welding machines? I think the young welders should stick to practicing their flat, vertical, horizontal and overhead. When they go to take a weld test for a job they wont be too well practiced, unless they want to be some fabricator.
Reply:I love the idea but I don't think Id be able to justify $15 a mo. For it, I've been learning by just building things that I need /want.The first time I read through your post I didn't catch the project every two weeks part, that's definitely a plus. I find when I'm trying to learn something, especially anything that's difficult or requires lots of practicing, it helps to take on as many projects as possible back to back.Maybe if you followed the structure of the popular video streaming sites, some free resources, more that are priced low enough that you don't really think about it, but high enough that you make money ($7-8) Who doesn't love a prize at the end!
Reply:Yea, you can send me $180 and I'll send you a $60 grinder any day..tackleexperts.comwww.necessityjigs.comhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/mach...dingequipment/

Reply:Ain't nobody got time for that. Got work to do, not fun projects. I would like to see something like this happen, but for free. Maybe HT or some other companies would give out prizesAirco Ac/Dc 300 HeliwelderMillerMatic 200 (stolen)Miller Maxstar 150STLMiller AEAD200LE (welding and generating power) Hobart MIG
Reply:I could do it free starting out I guess because the money doesn't matter. The first projects would be the basic 1g 2g 3G 4g plates then 1 2 3 and 4f.  I just want to see more folks involved. Even if I could get some 1 time donations to buy a prize with would help. Maybe you guys would like to subscribe for free just to see some of the prints?Sent from my iPod touch using TapatalkQuality is our policy.
