Reply:Try running that 6010 downhill then the lo high up...Alot faster and easier !! Just sayin'
Reply:I like how they require a flourescent safety vest but but not fall protection. I hope thats a two foot ladder and not a twelve footer

Reply:Same thing here. In the area I work MSHA regulates everything. They are safety gurus thats for sure. They require fall protection for anything without handrails and toe kicks over 4 feet!! Crazy. That looks like a cool project though.2012 Lincoln Powermig 2562012 Miller Bobcat 250 EFI2009 Lincoln LN-251963 Lincoln SA 200--------------------------------------------------------Jon KennedyAll Pro Diesel Performance & MaintenanceGillette Wyoming307-696-7246
Reply:I was forced to wear a safety harness recently at a houston area refinery. Usually dont mind but the scaffold i was working on was two feet off the ground. And thats no exaggeration
Reply:4 foot ladder  we were pushing it. and the vest don't last long they like to catch on fire! spec required up hill passes and1"across the top an bottem
Reply:I'm a foreman at a MSHA regulated above ground mine site.  Basically if there is ANY chance of falling, fall protection is required.  All contractors are required to have training before working on site and have to be insured.  I get so tired of telling truck drivers that they can't get on their trucks to strap and tarp loads on site.  1 out of 3 of them want to argue with you as if your picking on them.  I've developed a no tolerance for this and have basically become a ******** about it.
Reply:you buildin hangers for the next layer of pipe..?

Reply:Alright.  I was picturing a load of pipe or something that could easily shift on the way out. However, I would think the facility could do something to accommodate considering IMO.I work for a contract industrial fire fighting company (we also manufacture the fire fighting equipment) and I always have to laugh that all the safety people scatter when there's an incident and when we get there they realize the world isn't ending today and start to filter back in and proceed to tell us how we're going to do our job "safely".  Really?!  How many flammable liquid fires have YOU ever put out?  Sheeesh!MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!

Reply:Yep.  I'm all for working safely but someday we're going to show up for work and there'll be a sign that says:WARNING! - THIS AREA IS TOO SAFE FOR WORKING.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:Safety is out of hand here too. I'd get tossed off the site for that.OP: I'm curious why you went with the 3/32. In the second photo the weld looks certainly wide enough to call for 1/8. And I can't imagine the material being too thin. Just asking.IW Local 580 NY, NY
Reply:Working at a MSHA regulated site can be a real pain. I had a run in with an inspector because i didn't chock the tires on my truck.....It was stuck and needed a dozer to pull it out. The inspector ended up not writing the ticket but he was ready to. Really was pretty annoying because i always chock the tires, even though it is at a sand mine.
