Reply:I suppose the container is real portable if a tornado comes along  , but no, it is my "shop", and the shop floor is the great outdoors.The little stereo was a gift from K'kins last Xmas, and it was about time to start enjoying it.It has an Ipod dock   But.......Thank God it has a CD  player or I'd be screwed   I'm not goin' out and spend bucks on an Ipod when CD's sound so much better.  Just another mass marketing scam to get yer bucks!!!!!!!!!  I like my money in my pocket!And Roy......................  "Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/

Reply:Well, I'm gettin to the age where I dont hear as good as I used to and I cant tell the difference tween cd or ipod. What I like is I can carry 2000+ songs in my pocket. Thats about 200 cds worth of tunes but, only the songs i like. If i get tired of the songs that are on there, I'll have my boys help me put different ones on it Safety 3rdGump

Reply:Sorry to say, you have to use both. Records and tapes are not capable of the frequency response that CDs have. So you got to go with CD for the source material. I agree with the tube amps for mids and highs, but digital power is where its at for low end. AND, you'll never get me to say anything good about those stupid Bose systems. If you want full range, you need full size speakers. I have 2 15"subs run off a 1200w amp. Its kinda like motors, there is no replacement for displacement.Rock on Sam
Reply:I got a power amp with a boat load of EL-34 and 12AX7 tubes... yeah, it's really sweat.  That's my dedicated classical music listening rig though.  nice job on the shelf, samm

Reply:Somewhere along the way we got the digital vs. analog confused with solid state vs. tubes.Solid state amps are still analog, but I gotta agree that the tube amps are just easy on the ears. My best "system"  used an analog front end ( high end turntable), with a vacuum tube amp on the tweets, and a solid state amp on the low frequency drivers. No sub, although I considered it. One of these days, when the kids are older, I'll resurrect it...Nothing against a good cd player,  though the only one I ever really loved was over two grand back in 1994 or so. I couldn't afford it at the time. Don't know what is out there now, I suspect alot of cheap crap.Love the tube amp samm, what make is it?  I couldn't read the fine print!

Reply:Green Onions will always be  a classic R&R tune as are the MG's.  Steve Cropper had a best friend who played bass in most of his music.  That guy was known to the world as Donald Duck.
