I have a 100 amp MIG that I can't get parts for. It still welds but will birdnest every little bit. I hate to just trash it, would it be possible to run a TIG torch with it ?

Reply:Not MIG to TIG. If it was stick to TIG, then yes, but not MIG.kidtigger24 They think Im crazy, but I know better. It is not I who am crazy. It is I who am MAD!
Reply:No, sorry. Migs are CV (constant voltage) power sources, while stick and tig welding requires CC (constant current) power sources.[Account Abandoned 8/8/16 Please Do Not Attempt Contact Or Expect A Reply]. See you on YouTube! -ChuckE2009
Reply:Check the gun or the rollers for bird nest issues
Reply:Thanks for the replies everyone. Now I know what not to do..LOL FB, I'm thinking the trouble is with the liner but that isn't for sure. I guess I'll keep looking for a broken MIG to rob the gun and liner from and just make it fit. Thanks again.
Reply:Many of the 110V migs use the same guns, regardless of brand. Some have replaceable liners.
