I am almost embarrassed to even be asking this. I am 99.99% sure you can't do this but for the life of me I can't think of why it wouldn't work in theory I have blue shield allmig it's a tri mix for welding MIG. I can't say exactly whats in it or in what percentages off the top of my head but could probably find out. Now for the really stupid part I am just getting set up for tig on my powcon. I haven't had time to try it yet or even to go get a bottle of argon. Then I started to think why couldn't I use the MIG mix? I would only be welding mild steel. It shields the molten puddle when I MIG so in theory if I'm welding the same metal and using the same filler with tig would it not shield that to?Like I said I'm sure you can't do this but for the life of me I can't figure out why? What am I missing? Would it have something to do with tungsten contamination?I feel stupid asking this, this is basic stuff I should know
