Bulk 4 x 8 x 11 ga sheet costs

I got a quote from the place I normally get my steel from, which has always been one off projects. But now I need to do as a business and need the lowest price possible for the order size that I can afford.20 or more sheets @ $86 eachThat's as low as they will go, even if I order more.Waiting to hear back from another place.Obviously if I knew who his supplier was I could get it for less and I can afford to order more than 20 to get a better price.Anyone have any idea how I should go about finding the best deal and what that might be?I'm in the Tampa, FL area.

Reply:thats .53 a pound- a pretty decent price. But you can certainly call around.I find that cheap, but I understand east coast prices are often cheaper than mine- I generally pay .60 to .80 a pound, even when buying 4000lbs at a time, up here north of Seattle.
Reply:Try Tull Ryersontampa steelTampa bay steelI would say also call IMS still in Atlanta, just to see that the price is in the same ball park.IMS is with out a doubt the cheapest place in Atlanta to buy Steel except for DOM.

Reply:I'm not sure how much you need, but there's a local place that gets A LOT of scrap sheets (mostly ends of rolls) that they sell cheap.  It's in Iowa. They have a website if you want to inquire. Richmetalsco.com we get most of our steel there, it's new, just the sheets may be an inch or two longer or wider than nominal sizes.  Not an issue for us as we have a 10 ft shear.  Worth a call if you're needing a lot and can shear it.Edit: now that I see you're in Florida, probably not worth it, but maybe someone else reading this will find it useful.Last edited by toofast_28; 01-18-2014 at 03:30 AM.
