Today, I was tacking the legs 2x2 14ga. for my table to the top 3/8 plate. I held the legs to the plate  while tacking with a couple of positioning magnets. When I started the arc a few time the end of the rod would vibrate back and forth very quickly. I know the magnet was causing this but am curious about the "scientific reasons" this happened. it looked kinda cool. This only happened when using a full length rod. Was using my T/A 186, 3/32 7018 DCEP amps at 75, arc force at 30 and hot start at 70.
