What is the most common method to seal the ends of b-deck to keep the wet concrete from pouring out?Ian TannerKawasaki KX450 and many other fine tools
Reply:I not sure what a b-deck is, but you have to build a form from some type of strong material; wood, metal and then back that form with stakes ever 2'. Can you give us more information: size, where is it located: ground or elevated, how thick will the concrete be? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Reply:b-deck is the formed sheet metal decking commonly used to support concrete floors in steel framed buildings. I've never seen the actual concrete placement or forming, and was wondering if there is a common method to seal the ends?Ian TannerKawasaki KX450 and many other fine tools

Reply:Yes, Rock knocker or as a deck just pored last November, the steel framing and a mastic was used on this particular application . FYI light weight concrete is not all it's cracked up to be. Just get the "regular" stuff. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Reply:Everyone i have done has a 4x4-1/4" angle frame perimeter and the weld decking fits with no clear openings for the concrete to escape put.

Reply:depending on the contract docs, bent plate, angle, or gage material is normally used as a pour stop. The vertical leg height would depend on the thickness of the pour. There is also a supporting member under the edge, and the pour stop is attached to it, then the deck placed over it.
Reply:IIRC, B deck is used on the roof, not a poured floor, as the concrete is thinner.
Reply:anything from duct tape to spray foam to cardboard. it the deck is properly puddle welded or pinned to ledger angles then all you're doing is keeping the concrete from running out the cracks and end openings. spray foam works best for endsVantage 500's LN-25's, VI-400's, cobramatics, Miller migs, synch 350 LX, Powcon inverters, XMT's, 250 Ton Acurrpress 12' brake, 1/4" 10' Atlantic shear,Koikie plasma table W/ esab plasmas. marvel & hyd-mech saws, pirrana & metal muncher punches.
