I want to buy a smaller water cooled Tig torch. At Arczone, they have different packages of the wp20 torch, Pro, Premium,Standard.  On other sites you don't find the different packages.....  Is the Pro package worth the price or is it just fancy marketing?Arczone...  http://www.arc-zone.com/index.php?ma...th=13_18_25_30
Reply:I got my wp 20 from a place called  "youweld.com"....it's a Masterweld torch, made here in the USA and about the cheapest price I could find. I haven't used it yet but, it is built just as good as my CK torch, and uses all the common wp20 consumables.Lincoln pro mig 180Lincoln Square Wave Tig 300/wp 20/home built water cooler Victor, Purox, Harris, O/A welding/cutting setupsVintage Craftsman drill pressVintage Craftsman/Atlas 12"x 36'' lathe7''x 12'' w/c band saw Everlast 140 st

Reply:go back and read the information provided for each type.  they have spelled out very clearly the difference between  the three combinations.

Reply:you need to do some research.  http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=....c0.m270.l1313if this is hard what are you going to do when you go trying to find fittings for that chinese welder.
Reply:Are you asking if you should get a ballistic nylon protector?  I would say you would want gas lenses, collets and ceramic cups for what size tungsten you intend on using.  I would also suggest you have some of the non gas lens stuff for more restricted places.  Is a gas nozzle the ceramic cup?I note in the descripiton it calls the torch body a 250 amp 100% duty cycle.  It also rates (in the specifications) 50 feet of cable for that which I don't believe.  One would reasonably expect the specifications to be for the package not only the body.

Reply:check out weldingcity.com they have some very good prices also... If you are new to tig welding I suggest you find a relatively cheap torch compared to those at arczone.com, if you forget to turn the water, or the water pump that torch is done and you just blew $3-$500( arczone prices). OR you could buy a 17 or 9 series air cooled torch and use it to learn with and then switch to the w/cooled torch ounce you are more comfortable.and yes those fittings are a pain in the *** to find!!!!Lincoln pro mig 180Lincoln Square Wave Tig 300/wp 20/home built water cooler Victor, Purox, Harris, O/A welding/cutting setupsVintage Craftsman drill pressVintage Craftsman/Atlas 12"x 36'' lathe7''x 12'' w/c band saw Everlast 140 st
Reply:here, save yourself some trouble and some money.  the everlast site has a whole thread on doing the fitting conversion from an american torch to the 250 ex.   why not just go to ebay and buy the everlast wp20 with free shipping which is sure to fit your welder.  http://www.ebay.com/itm/WP20-TIG-WEL...item4aa9bc9df2
Reply:just so you know i bought a 250 ex also,  it's on its way from california as i write.   i have a 350 lx set up already and i don't want to have to modify my torches to fit the new unit.  i am also setup on a trailblazer with an hf unit and cooler.  i think i'll probably just order this torch because i have learned that the easy quick route is the best.  that way i won't have to change anything or go searching for things or fabricating custom harnesses.  i like that.  sold a dynasty to buy this thing and still came out  850 ahead.  christ i could buy three of these things fully outfitted for the price of a sync 250 outfitted.   don't cry to me miller, you should have seen this coming.
Reply:Thanks for all the help...  I will probably go with the Everlast torch like fdcmiami suggests.I've been Tig welding for 3 months now so yes I'm new to this.    I can't afford the welder I want in a name brand so I figured I would give Everlast a try.  I've read a lot of good things as well as some trouble they have had but they do have good customer service and that is a plus. I use a Lincoln Precision Tig 375 at night school!

On the Arczone site....it lists in the Standard package-low cost vinyl plastic hoses, Premium package-rubber hoses, and the Pro package has high flex rubber hoses along with a bunch of added parts n pieces I may or may not need.I'm just asking for a little advice from people that have welded longer than me as to what might be a better torch to spend my money on as far as the type of hose included with it.
Reply:high flex rubber hoses are really worth the money, I've got weld-tec hoses which are fantastic and a really good value. I've heard good things about CK's too. Not all plastic hoses are all bad, but the cheap heavy duty ones, are a real drag to weld with as they are so stiff, and if you weld a lot will take a toll on your wrists. Arc-zone is great, I just got an order from them yesterday. I'd say the pro package is worth it if you plan on getting some good use out of it...Proud to support Reliable Sheet Metal Works, in Fullerton, CA.Full service sheet metal fabrication serving Orange County since 1926.http://www.reliablesheetmetal.com
