TA 185 Weld Process Question.

I just bought a TA 185TSW Prowave from its original owner for $1650.  I know I paid a bit much, but the machine is in great shape, he demo'd for me, and included a bunch of consumables, extension cords and TIG rods.  He used it for a few projects, and not to knock the guy, judging by the quality of his beads, he didnt use it much.  He said the machine was 4-5 yrs old and it was made in Japan.  I promptly blew the unit out with my compressor, only to read in the manual that that should never be done!Anyway, the machine has more functions than I think I'll ever need.  In terms of the 4 weld function controls, there is a "Repeat" mode that looks just like the "Slope" mode except that the wave doesnt go down to baseline before the next upslope.  Whats this function used for?TA Arcmaster 300CM3XMT 304S22P12 suitcase feederX-Treme 12VSOptima pulserTA161SMaxstar 150STLHypertherm PM45OP setupStihl 020AVP, 039, 066 Magnum

Reply:I have had a TA 185 for quite a few years.   I have never used the automatic ramp up or ramp down  or slope up or down.  I just use my foot.  If I were doing production all day welding the same stuff it MIGHT be handy.Enjoy your machine, you have a good one.   Kicks *** on aluminum.  Not much of a stick welder.DavidReal world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.

Reply:My formula is backwards.  CFH * .478 = LPMSO 7/.478 = 14.66 CFH which is about where I run mine. Maybe 10 cfh with a gas lens, 35 for aluminum. DavidReal world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
