Reply:Wish I could weld the way you guys do.......great work.Side note; Those are some of the nastiest finger nails I've seen out side of third world countries
Reply:I don't know.... that ground looks a mite "iffy".... 2 steel C-clamps and a bronze ground clamp?  You could get some galvanic action there. Zap I see you solved the problem of dirt under your finger nails... you don't have any!  Yum, yum! Thanks for changing to a rod to hold the dime... I don't know if I could have handled another two close ups of your finger nails! BTW... nice repair. Reply:Whew......must say......I was a little concerned about the reception my 3rd ever post on this site would receive when it involved a critique of the Zapster's personal hygiene. I know for certain, my wife wouldn't let me near her with those fingers.  Just sayin'  Edit: Zap.....would one of those 'magnetic' ground dealie-whoopers have worked or no?Last edited by dback; 06-28-2012 at 04:54 PM.

Reply:I'll challenge ya Zap on the fingernails.  Mine are much worse that Zaps.I bite mine too, and dont smoke.I think it help me from getting colds and other sickness carried by others.  When someone around me is sick, i NEVER catch it.I reckon all the extra germs i eat helps me build an immunity to germs and disease.
Reply:I hope to weld like that one day...... in the meantime...... i am embarrassed to post my pics....... since I always compare them to Zap......Is there a level lower than suck? That's my level........Precision TIG 185 and MP 210Bobcat 225NTCutmaster 42O/A tanks.... 2 Argon tanks...... 2 C25 TanksFacebook...... Reply:Beautiful work once again zap! And dont worry about the nails, mine are just as bad and the hands usually have a few broken water blisters on them as well. I hate being bi-polar it's awsomeMy Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys
Reply:No shame in having "working mans hands". If you can work with your hands you will always be able to find work.
Reply:Damn Zap, there goes your shot at that cushy job as a hand model. Nice work. Wish I could lay a weave like that.If you cant fix it with a hammer, it must be an electrical problem."Boy, everyone starts with a full bag of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience before the bag of luck is empty."-Grandad circa 1990ish
Reply:Beautiful as usual. Fexal as a note, don't compare your beads to others but compare them to your previous.  Make each bead better than your last.

Reply:My oh my, look at those welds, giving me some goose bumps here, some day, some day I will be able to weld like that, but gotta buy me a TIG welder first, hahahahaha.....LOL
Reply:For what it's worth..Here are the final set up pics for machining after welding and cooling..After you bore the tube leave the steady rest ALONE!!!Using the spots I made for boring you put the tube in the rest and indicate the spot on the tube closest the chuck to ZERO..Now take the indicator and put it near the chuck and set a zero..Turn the chuck 180 and VIOLA! Only out .004At this point I turn a new steady rest spot on the journal that runs true with the roller..Flip and repeat on the other side...005 this end..Turn another spot the same size as the first one and now we are ready to centerdrill and face to length before finishing the OD of everything else..This roller is pretty true as is so balancing will be no problem at all..And that's our lesson for the day.....zap!Last edited by zapster; 07-02-2012 at 05:44 PM.I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
