This isn't about welding exactly. I was wanting to get an ArcOne Python 6000V ,but i wanted to know if it was worth the over $300 price tag before i buy it. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Reply:How about an intro too??? Not trying to bust your b a l l s. Just sayin'.
Reply:Thank you that was very usefull. Sorry no intro, i was just in a hurry. I'm a litle to excited to buy one just because it looks cool but i know thats not enough. I already have 3 hoods and dont really need another one. Thanks again.

Reply:Do you have a link to the specs of the hood?Semper FiJesus may have been a Carpenter, but his dad was a Millwright" A grinder and a can of paint, will make a welder what he aint' "I've done so much, with so little, for so long, that now I can do anything with nothing!
Reply:Is this the one????http://store.weldingdepot.com/cgi/we...ml?id=vMVFX9AfIt's real similar to the one I bought from HTP welders. This one..http://www.htpweld.com/products/weld.../90130OCF.html What was nice about HTP is they are in Iliinois (Elk Grove Village) and you talk directly to Jeff Nolan who is a member here. I ordered before 1:00p.m. and had it the next day. I can't swing the big dollar mask and this fit the bill.
Reply:Sorry I for got their home page...http://www.usaweld.com/
Reply:I use an ArcOne singles 240 lense and it works great for my needs (not for gouging, mind you!) although I have no experience with the ArcOne Python.IMO, Something to factor into buying a new helmet would be the availability and cost of cover plates and I can seeing that being the biggest issue. The Python is also Battery powered only, so that could be an issue as well.Last edited by mb_welder; 11-09-2011 at 09:30 PM.
Reply:This is the one i want.http://store.weldersource.com/6000v-1171.htmlThanks for the input. i have good sturdy and trusty hoods i just want this one cause it looks cool but i dont know if thats enough for the money. I have a fibre metal with a big lense and 2 old school pipeliners hoods (the big white ones) and they all work fine. thanks!!
Reply:Save your money. If you want the convenience of an auto, just get an auto lense that will fit into one of your existing lids.
Reply:ive had and still do have auto inserts. thats another problem, with my job its not really useful for me to have an auto hood. i may get it for the fun of having it but i think ill just ask for it for x-mas. thanks all for the input. u have to admit if nothing else it does look cool!!
