I have a job at work that is going to require me to TIG weld Hastelloy to Hastelloy and a few welds that are Hastelloy to SST and all of my welds need to be leak tight to 1 x 10-9 cc/sec Helium. I was wondering how this welds up. I am use to welding SST to SST, Inconel to inconel and SST to Inconel and get had successful leak tight welds using filler rod and without filler rod.How does Hastelloy weld up compared to these metals I am use to welding? Is there anything special that I should know before I start? Is filler rod required to weld a good joint with Hastelloy? What kind of gas is best? Can I use my 98% argon 2% hydrogen mix that I use for SST and Inconel or is it better to just use pure argon? Thanks for reading this and your help.Miller Mulitmatic 200Lincoln POWER MIG 180Thermal Dynamics Cutmaster 51Oxy-Acetylene TorchMiller Digital Elite Vintage USA
