welding gloves.

hi guys. Ive been doing Aluminum welding for a few months now, ive been using a regular welding glove on my left hand and a non welding glove on my welding gun hand but that glove doesn't last long from the sparks.   can anyone tell me whats the best glove to use for Aluminum welding?cheers.

Reply:since you are sparking im guessing you are wire-feeding. for that, I would wear nothing less than a pair of heavy-duty mig-gloves. if its bigger stuff, a heat-shield on the forward hand helps a lot. I try and wear a shield when running dual-shield or back when I was doing a lot of aluminum.for the record though, I don't remember many sparks when running aluminum. you should be getting pure spray with a slight crackle when you go to fill your bead up. whipping across the joint it would sound like: "zzzzcrACKzzzzcrACKzzzzcrACKbosses stuff:trailblazer 325maxstar 200my stuff:sa 200fronius transpocket 180100 amp Lincoln w/f97 f350 DITKevin

Reply:Ummm .....  Need more info like material size, machine settings, Pulse? push/pull spool or short lead soft wheels?? it all makes a difference but we can't help if we don't have the information. I do quite a bit of 10 and 12 gauge sheet with a python push/pull and I just don't get enuff spatter to cause a problem.GOD, GUNS,& GUTS Made America Free
Reply:im using a pair of cheap Hobart mig gloves and I have a pair or Steiner long gloves, think there 21 inchs long. there awesome for protecting your arms and there nice and thick. had both pairs for over 2 years. my hobarts have a shriveled find though cause I got it to hot. lolHH140---------------------------https://www.facebook.com/brandon.pike.9
